One of the urgent social issues in Shanghai is how to detain young people especially those who have just graduated due to its rising land price and unsatisfying leasing market. Besides, what the youngsters are looking for is not just a low-rent apartment. More importantly, what they demand is a decent place with diverse lifestyle, which has seldom been supplied by the current leasing market. Even though the government has implemented a series of leasing policies in order to improve such a situation, those attempts have not worked efficiently. Such a main pain point of leasing apartment still exits. 

This project sets block at crossroads of Nanning Road and Wu Xuan Road in Xuhui District, Shanghai as the project site, aiming to explore a new-type lease living space in response to the current leasing situation in Shanghai. The new design should not only meet the needs of different youngsters but also create a brand-new leasing system and space modeling to attract those graduate talents. What’s more, the project expects its remarkable operational and promotional value which can be created and copied in other sites regarding its simple and clear architectural format.
